Description
These Vampire Teeth Cookies are a fun and spooky treat perfect for Halloween or themed parties. Made with classic chocolate chip cookie dough, miniature marshmallows, slivered almonds, and vibrant red icing, they come together to create adorable vampire mouths with marshmallow teeth and almond fangs.
Ingredients
Cookie Base
- 30 oz package of refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough
Teeth and Decoration
- 1 cup miniature marshmallows
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds
- 1 (4.25 oz) tube of red decorator icing (or a tub of white frosting mixed with red food dye)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the cookies.
- Divide and shape the dough: Divide the cookie dough into 12 equal sections. Roll each section into a large ball to ensure uniform cookie size.
- Bake the cookies: Place the cookie dough balls on a baking sheet and bake according to package instructions, approximately 12 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool completely after baking.
- Prepare cookie halves: Once cooled, cut each cookie in half horizontally. Position the cookie halves with the cut sides facing up (wrong sides up).
- Apply icing: Squeeze a strip of red icing around the inside edge of each cookie half to act as adhesive and decoration.
- Add marshmallow teeth: Line the icing on one cookie half with miniature marshmallows. Place marshmallows along the rounded part to mimic teeth and add a few along the flat edge to help keep the vampire mouth level.
- Assemble the mouth: Carefully place the other cookie half on top of the marshmallow-lined half to form the full vampire mouth.
- Add almond fangs: Before the icing dries completely, quickly place a slivered almond on the outsides of the two front marshmallows to create vampire fangs.
- Repeat: Continue assembling the remaining cookie halves to complete all 12 vampire teeth cookies.
Notes
- For a consistent red color, use red decorator icing or mix white frosting with red food dye as an alternative.
- Ensure cookies are completely cooled before adding marshmallows to prevent melting.
- If you want a stronger hold, allow the assembled cookies to set at room temperature before serving.
- You can substitute slivered almonds with any small, pointed nut or candy to create the fangs.
