Description

A delicious and nutritious protein-packed granola made with rolled oats, nuts, and vanilla protein powder, lightly sweetened with honey and baked to golden perfection. Perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack that provides sustained energy and satisfying crunch.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
  • ½ cup chopped nuts of choice
  • ½ cup vanilla protein powder (vanilla whey protein powder recommended)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Wet Ingredients

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 egg white
  • 3 tablespoons pure honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the granola.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, combine all dry and wet ingredients—rolled oats, chopped nuts, vanilla protein powder, ground cinnamon, olive oil, egg white, and honey—mixing thoroughly until well combined.
  3. Spread Evenly: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then spread the granola mixture evenly on the sheet to ensure uniform cooking and cluster formation.
  4. Bake and Flip: Bake the granola at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 18-20 minutes, gently flipping it halfway through the baking time to promote even browning. Handle carefully to preserve granola clusters; look for a deep golden brown color indicating caramelization.
  5. Cool Completely: Remove the granola from the oven and allow it to cool fully on the baking sheet. As it cools, it will crisp up and achieve the perfect texture for eating.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper on the baking sheet to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
  • Do not over-flip the granola to keep nice clusters intact.
  • Allow the granola to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
  • Customize with your favorite nuts like almonds, walnuts, or pecans.
  • Suitable for a quick, high-protein breakfast or snack on the go.
