Description

Polar Bear Paws Candy is a delightful, no-bake treat featuring chewy caramel, crunchy roasted peanuts, and a smooth white chocolate coating. These bite-sized candies are perfect for satisfying sweet cravings with a combination of creamy, nutty, and sweet flavors, finished with optional festive sprinkles for added charm.

Ingredients

Caramel Mixture

  • 11 ounces caramel squares (1 bag)
  • 3 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup roasted salted peanuts

Coating

  • 1 pound white almond bark
  • Sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and set it aside for cooling the candy.
  2. Melt Caramel Mixture: In a medium pot over medium heat, combine caramel squares, heavy whipping cream, unsalted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir continuously until the caramel is fully melted and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Add Peanuts: Stir in the roasted salted peanuts to evenly distribute them throughout the caramel mixture.
  4. Form Mounds: Using a spoon, drop tablespoon-sized mounds of the caramel and nut mixture onto the prepared parchment paper.
  5. Chill to Set: Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator or freezer for about one hour until the caramel mounds are firm and set.
  6. Melt White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white almond bark in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely smooth and melted.
  7. Dip Candies: Dip each set caramel and peanut mound into the melted white chocolate, tapping off any excess coating for an even layer.
  8. Final Decoration and Set: Place the dipped candies back onto the parchment paper. Add sprinkles on top if desired, then allow them to cool and harden completely before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the caramel mixture does not boil to prevent burning and grainy texture.
  • Use parchment paper to avoid sticking and ease cleanup.
  • Sprinkles are optional but add a festive look for holidays or parties.
  • Store finished candies in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for longer shelf life.
  • If you don’t have almond bark, you can substitute with white chocolate chips, but tempering may be needed for a firm coating.
