Description

This Keto TikTok Cajun Sausage and Cabbage Alfredo is a creamy, flavorful low-carb dish combining spicy Andouille sausage, tender cabbage, and a rich Parmesan Alfredo sauce. Perfect for a comforting dinner that fits keto lifestyles, it comes together quickly in one skillet, blending Cajun spices with creamy buttery goodness.

Ingredients

Sausage and Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 14 ounces Andouille sausage, sliced
  • 3 tsp Cajun Seasoning

Vegetables and Dairy

  • 1/2 Onion, chopped
  • 5 cups Chopped Cabbage
  • 6 tbsp Butter, divided (2 tbsp and 4 tbsp)
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil: Warm 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat to prepare for searing the sausage.
  2. Sear the sausage: Add the sliced Andouille sausage to the hot skillet, cooking until browned on all sides, then remove and set aside.
  3. Add initial butter and onions: Lower heat to medium and add 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet. Stir in chopped onions and sauté until they soften and become translucent.
  4. Add remaining butter and cabbage: Stir in the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter along with the chopped cabbage into the skillet.
  5. Season the cabbage: Sprinkle 3 teaspoons of Cajun seasoning evenly over the cabbage and stir to coat all ingredients thoroughly.
  6. Add cream and combine: Pour 1 cup of heavy whipping cream into the skillet and stir everything together to blend flavors evenly.
  7. Simmer covered: Cover the skillet with a lid and let the mixture simmer gently until the cabbage starts to become tender, absorbing the creamy sauce.
  8. Add Parmesan cheese: Remove the lid and stir in 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Continue to simmer, stirring until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.
  9. Return sausage and serve: Put the browned sausage back into the skillet, mixing it with the creamy cabbage mixture, then serve hot.

Notes

  • Use Andouille sausage for authentic Cajun flavor and spice.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning quantity to your preferred spice level.
  • Chopping cabbage finely helps it cook faster and blend better with the sauce.
  • If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of water or broth to thin it slightly.
  • This dish can be served alone or with a side of cauliflower rice for extra volume.
