Description

A refreshing and invigorating Iced Orange Ginger Green Tea that combines the health benefits of green tea and ginger with the bright, citrusy flavors of fresh orange and lemon juices, sweetened naturally with honey. Perfect for a revitalizing summer drink or an afternoon pick-me-up.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 4 cups water
  • 5 organic green tea bags
  • 2 tablespoons ginger, finely grated or minced

Sweetener and Citrus

  • 3-4 tablespoons honey (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups fresh orange juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice

Garnish

  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Simmer Water and Brew Tea: Heat 4 cups of water until it is almost boiling, then turn off the heat. Add 5 organic green tea bags to the hot water to begin brewing.
  2. Add Ginger: Add 2 tablespoons of finely grated or minced ginger to the tea, letting the mixture steep for 2 to 3 minutes to infuse the ginger flavor.
  3. Strain Cooling Tea: Allow the tea to cool slightly, then strain it through a fine mesh strainer into a large pitcher to remove tea bags and ginger pieces.
  4. Sweeten Tea: Stir in 3 to 4 tablespoons of honey into the warm tea, adjusting sweetness to your preference.
  5. Add Citrus Juices: Mix in 2 cups of fresh orange juice and ½ cup of fresh lemon juice, stirring well to combine all flavors evenly.
  6. Serve Over Ice: Pour the iced tea into glasses filled with ice cubes to chill the beverage thoroughly.
  7. Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish with fresh mint leaves for an added burst of freshness and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of honey based on your preferred sweetness level.
  • Use fresh ginger for the best flavor and aroma.
  • For a stronger ginger flavor, increase steeping time but avoid oversteeping tea bags to prevent bitterness.
  • Freshly squeezed orange and lemon juices are recommended for superior taste compared to bottled juices.
  • Serve immediately for best flavor, or refrigerate up to 24 hours.
