Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Frozen Chocolate Banana Pops combining the natural sweetness of bananas with rich dairy-free chocolate and colorful sprinkles. Perfect for a refreshing and healthy treat that can be prepared in just a few simple steps.

Ingredients

Banana Pops Ingredients

  • 4 Bananas
  • 3/4 Cup Dairy-Free Chocolate Chips
  • 1 Teaspoon Coconut Oil
  • 3 Tablespoons Sprinkles (preferably Watkins brand)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice off the bottom of each banana to create a flat surface for inserting the popsicle sticks.
  2. Insert Popsicle Sticks: Push a popsicle stick into the cut end of each banana. If you don’t have popsicle sticks, simply skip this step and enjoy the popsicles stick-free.
  3. Freeze Bananas: Line a baking sheet or plate with parchment paper and arrange the prepared bananas on top. Place them in the freezer for about two hours until they are fully frozen.
  4. Melt Chocolate: While the bananas freeze, melt the dairy-free chocolate chips with the coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 2-3 increments of 30 seconds, stirring each time until smooth. Alternatively, melt the chocolate using a double boiler on the stovetop.
  5. Dip Bananas: Once the bananas are frozen and the chocolate is melted, dip each banana into the chocolate to coat thoroughly.
  6. Add Sprinkles & Freeze: Immediately after dipping, sprinkle with your chosen sprinkles for added color and texture. Place the coated bananas back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze until ready to serve.

Notes

  • For a firmer popsicle, ensure bananas are completely frozen before dipping.
  • Different toppings like crushed nuts or shredded coconut can be used instead of sprinkles.
  • If you don’t have popsicle sticks, eating the banana pops without sticks is perfectly fine.
  • Microwave or stovetop melting methods both work well for melting chocolate chips.
  • Use dairy-free chocolate chips to keep this recipe vegan-friendly and suitable for lactose intolerance.
