Description

Dubai Chocolate Strawberries combine crispy kataifi dough, rich pistachio butter, and silky melted chocolate layered beautifully with fresh strawberries, creating an indulgent dessert that’s both visually stunning and delightfully flavorful. This no-bake, stovetop-prep treat is perfect for a quick yet impressive dessert for gatherings or whenever you crave a sophisticated sweet snack.

Ingredients

For the Kataifi Filling

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces kataifi shredded dough, chopped
  • 1 cup pistachio butter (or pistachio cream)
  • 2 tablespoons tahini (optional)

For the Chocolate

  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

For Assembly

  • 1 ½ pounds strawberries, halved
  • Ground pistachios, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Kataifi: Melt the unsalted butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chopped kataifi dough and cook, stirring constantly, until browned and crispy, about 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and stir in pistachio butter and tahini (if using). Allow the mixture to cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  3. Assemble the Dessert: Place 8 strawberry halves evenly at the bottom of each of 4 clear 12-ounce cups. Drizzle about 2 tablespoons of melted chocolate to fill the gaps between the strawberries. Spoon about 3 tablespoons of the kataifi filling on top of the strawberries and chocolate. Repeat another layer of roughly 8 strawberry halves near the top of the cup, followed by kataifi filling, a drizzle of melted chocolate, and a sprinkle of ground pistachios.
  4. Chill and Serve: Enjoy the dessert immediately or place the assembled cups in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set and the flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

  • Kataifi dough is a shredded phyllo dough commonly used in Middle Eastern desserts and can be found in specialty or Middle Eastern grocery stores.
  • Tahini adds a subtle depth of flavor but is optional depending on preference or dietary restrictions.
  • If pistachio butter is unavailable, pistachio cream or finely ground pistachios mixed with a bit of oil can be used as a substitute.
  • Use high-quality chocolate chips for best melting and flavor results.
  • Ensure strawberries are fresh and firm for optimal texture.
  • This dessert can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated for up to a few hours before serving.
