Ingredients
Cauliflower Steaks
- 2 heads Cauliflower
- 2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/2 tsp Sea salt
- 1/2 tsp Black pepper
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven or grill: If roasting, preheat your oven to 425°F (218°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. If grilling, preheat the grill over medium heat.
- Cut the cauliflower: Slice each cauliflower head into steaks about 3/4 inch thick. You should get 2-3 full slices from each head. Set aside any loose florets to use in other recipes or roast them alongside.
- Season the cauliflower: In a small bowl, combine olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Brush this mixture evenly on both sides of each cauliflower steak to ensure full flavor.
- Roast the cauliflower steaks: Place the seasoned steaks on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then carefully flip each steak and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes until tender and browned.
- Grill the cauliflower steaks: Place the steaks on the preheated grill. Cover with the grill lid and cook for 5 minutes, then flip and cover again, cooking for an additional 4-5 minutes until tender and nicely browned.
Notes
- Use firm, fresh cauliflower heads for best slicing and holding shape.
- Serve with a squeeze of lemon juice or your favorite sauce for added flavor.
- The loose florets can be roasted separately for a crunchy side dish.
- Adjust seasoning to taste; smoked paprika can be substituted for a smokier flavor.
