Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 3 cups dry brownie mix (heat treated)
Dairy
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 8 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
Flavorings and Add-ins
- 1/4 cup chocolate syrup
- 2 snack brownies (chopped, optional)
- Sprinkles for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Heat treat brownie mix: Place the 3 cups of dry brownie mix in a microwave-safe bowl or plate. Microwave in 30-second intervals, whisking after each to prevent clumps, until the mixture reaches 160 – 165°F, making it safe to eat raw. Allow it to cool completely before using.
- Whip the cream: In a large bowl, beat the 1 cup of heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Set this whipped cream mixture aside for folding later.
- Combine base ingredients: In a separate large bowl, add the cooled dry brownie mix and 8 ounces of room temperature cream cheese. Beat on medium speed for 1-2 minutes. The mixture might not fully come together at this stage.
- Add chocolate syrup: Pour in 1/4 cup of chocolate syrup and continue to beat on medium speed until the batter forms a cohesive ball.
- Incorporate whipped cream: Gently add the whipped cream to the brownie batter mixture and beat until fully incorporated and lightened in color to create a fluffy, creamy texture.
- Optional brownie bits: Fold in chopped snack brownies if using, for added texture and richness.
- Serve: Transfer the dip to a serving dish. Garnish with sprinkles if desired and serve with pretzels, cookies, or graham crackers for dipping.
Notes
- Heat treating the brownie mix is crucial to ensure it’s safe to eat raw by eliminating harmful bacteria.
- Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature to help it blend seamlessly into the batter.
- For a thicker dip, chill it for 30 minutes before serving.
- Store leftover dip covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Swap heavy whipping cream with coconut cream for a dairy-free variation, though texture may vary.
