Description
A quick and easy 15-minute cheddar cheese spread that’s fluffy, creamy, and packed with bold flavors. Perfect as a savory dip or spread for pretzel chips, crackers, and fresh veggies.
Ingredients
Cheese Spread
- 2 cups freshly-grated sharp cheddar cheese (140 grams), room temperature
- 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese (226 grams), room temperature
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise (80 grams)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper (or black pepper), plus more to taste
- 1 pinch of Kosher salt
Garnish and Serving
- 1 tablespoon freshly-snipped chives (6 grams)
- Pretzel chips, crackers, and/or veggies for serving
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Add the shredded sharp cheddar cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, white pepper, and a pinch of Kosher salt to the bowl of a food processor.
- Process Until Fluffy: Whip the ingredients in the food processor until the spread is fluffy and smooth, about 3-4 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl every minute to ensure everything is well-mixed. Taste and adjust seasoning by adding more spices if needed.
- Serve and Garnish: Spread the dip into a shallow bowl and garnish with freshly snipped chives. Serve immediately with pretzel chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping. Enjoy!
Notes
- Allow the cream cheese and cheddar to come to room temperature for easier blending and a smoother texture.
- Adjust the cayenne and paprika according to your preferred spice level.
- For a lighter version, substitute mayo with Greek yogurt, but note the flavor and texture change.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
- This spread can also be chilled before serving for a firmer texture.
