Description

A quick and easy 15-minute cheddar cheese spread that’s fluffy, creamy, and packed with bold flavors. Perfect as a savory dip or spread for pretzel chips, crackers, and fresh veggies.

Ingredients

Cheese Spread

  • 2 cups freshly-grated sharp cheddar cheese (140 grams), room temperature
  • 8 ounces full-fat cream cheese (226 grams), room temperature
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise (80 grams)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper (or black pepper), plus more to taste
  • 1 pinch of Kosher salt

Garnish and Serving

  • 1 tablespoon freshly-snipped chives (6 grams)
  • Pretzel chips, crackers, and/or veggies for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the shredded sharp cheddar cheese, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cayenne, white pepper, and a pinch of Kosher salt to the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Process Until Fluffy: Whip the ingredients in the food processor until the spread is fluffy and smooth, about 3-4 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl every minute to ensure everything is well-mixed. Taste and adjust seasoning by adding more spices if needed.
  3. Serve and Garnish: Spread the dip into a shallow bowl and garnish with freshly snipped chives. Serve immediately with pretzel chips, crackers, or fresh veggies for dipping. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Allow the cream cheese and cheddar to come to room temperature for easier blending and a smoother texture.
  • Adjust the cayenne and paprika according to your preferred spice level.
  • For a lighter version, substitute mayo with Greek yogurt, but note the flavor and texture change.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
  • This spread can also be chilled before serving for a firmer texture.
