Description
Pan Fried Cinnamon Bananas are sweet, tender slices of banana caramelized in a buttery cinnamon-honey glaze. Ready in just 10 minutes, this irresistible treat makes the perfect quick dessert or decadent topping for breakfast favorites like pancakes, French toast, and yogurt.
Ingredients
Bananas
- 2 bananas, cut into 1/2” pieces
Glaze
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons raw honey (or regular honey)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the Glaze: In a frying pan over medium-high heat, combine the butter, honey, and cinnamon. Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Add the Bananas: Arrange the banana slices into the pan in a single layer. Cook for 4 minutes, allowing the bottoms to caramelize and turn golden brown. Adjust the heat if needed so they don’t burn.
- Flip and Caramelize: Carefully flip each banana piece and cook for another 4 minutes, until the second side is also golden and caramelized.
- Serve: Remove from the heat and serve immediately. These bananas are delicious over ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or French toast.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm bananas for the best texture—they hold their shape better during cooking.
- Add a pinch of sea salt or a splash of vanilla extract for extra depth of flavor.
- Watch closely while caramelizing to avoid burning the honey and butter mixture.
- This recipe doubles easily if you’re serving a crowd, but use a larger pan to avoid overcrowding.
