Description
This Maple Honeycrisp Bourbon Cocktail is a refreshing autumn-inspired drink that combines the sweetness of honeycrisp apples, the warm notes of bourbon, and a touch of maple syrup for a perfect balance of flavors. It’s easy to make in just five minutes, requiring no cooking, and is ideal for fall gatherings or a cozy evening at home.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 3 medium honeycrisp apples, sliced (gala or fuji work as well)
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup apple cider (fresh is best)
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 1/2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 1 – 2 tsp granulated or superfine sugar
- 2/3 cup bourbon (approximately 5 oz)
Garnish
- Additional honeycrisp apple slices
- Fresh thyme sprigs
Instructions
- Blend the ingredients: Add the sliced apples, water, apple cider, lemon juice, maple syrup, and sugar to a blender. Process on high speed for about one minute or until the mixture is completely smooth.
- Strain the mixture: Place a fine mesh sieve over a pitcher. Pour the blended mixture through the sieve, using a rubber spatula to press down and extract as much liquid as possible. Discard the remaining solids left in the sieve.
- Mix in bourbon and chill: Stir in the bourbon into the strained liquid. Cover and chill the cocktail for one to two hours to let the flavors meld and serve it cold.
- Serve and garnish: Pour the chilled cocktail over ice in serving glasses. Garnish each with additional honeycrisp apple slices and fresh thyme sprigs for an aromatic finish.
Notes
- If you prefer a less sweet cocktail, start with 1 teaspoon of sugar and adjust to taste.
- Substitute bourbon with rye whiskey for a spicier profile.
- Use freshly pressed apple cider for the best flavor impact.
- To make it a mocktail, omit the bourbon and increase the apple cider slightly.
- For easier preparation, slice apples thinly to ensure smoother blending.
