Description

The Dutch Bros Iced Golden Eagle is a decadent and refreshing iced coffee drink featuring bold espresso combined with smooth vanilla and caramel syrups, topped with creamy half-and-half and drizzled caramel sauce. Perfect for a sweet coffee treat that can be enjoyed chilled on warm days or as a flavorful pick-me-up any time.

Ingredients

Espresso Base

  • 2 shots espresso (or ½ cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla syrup
  • 2 teaspoons caramel syrup

Dairy

  • ¾ cup half-and-half (or whole milk or a mix of milk and cream as substitute)

Additional

  • Caramel sauce (for drizzling)
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Mix Syrups and Espresso: In a mixing cup or shaker, combine the vanilla syrup, caramel syrup, and freshly brewed espresso. Stir or shake well to blend the flavors thoroughly.
  2. Add Ice to Chill: Add a good amount of ice to the mixing cup containing the espresso and syrup mixture to cool it down rapidly.
  3. Prepare Serving Glass: Drizzle caramel sauce inside a large serving glass, allowing it to run down the sides creating a decorative and flavorful lining. Then add ice to the glass.
  4. Pour Espresso Mixture: Strain the chilled espresso and syrup blend over the ice in the caramel-drizzled glass, ensuring a smooth pour without the ice from the mixing cup.
  5. Add Half-and-Half: Slowly top the drink with half-and-half (or your preferred dairy substitute), pouring until the glass is nearly full to achieve a creamy texture.
  6. Combine Gently: Stir the drink gently to incorporate the layers and distribute the flavors evenly without losing the iced chill.
  7. Finish with Caramel Drizzle: Complete the presentation and flavor by adding a generous drizzle of caramel sauce on top of the drink.

Notes

  • You can substitute espresso shots with strong brewed coffee if you don’t have an espresso machine.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of vanilla and caramel syrup to your preference.
  • For a lighter version, use whole milk or a milk and cream mix instead of half-and-half.
  • Ensure the ice is plenty to keep the drink cold but not dilute it too much.
  • This beverage is best served immediately to enjoy the fresh espresso flavor and creamy texture.
