Description

This refreshing Cortisol Cocktail is a soothing herbal tea blend designed to help manage stress and support relaxation. Combining green tea, chamomile, turmeric, ginger, and a splash of lemon juice, this beverage delivers a balanced flavor with calming and anti-inflammatory properties. Perfect to enjoy chilled over ice for a rejuvenating drink any time of the day.

Ingredients

Tea Base

  • 1 Green tea bag
  • 1 Chamomile tea bag
  • 1 tsp dried Chamomile flowers
  • 1 cup Water

Flavorings

  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon
  • 1 inch grated Turmeric
  • 1 inch grated fresh Ginger
  • 1 tsp Honey (optional)

Serving

  • Ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Heat Water: Boil 1 cup of water until it reaches a hot temperature suitable for steeping tea.
  2. Prepare Tea Bags: Place the green tea bag and chamomile tea bag into a heat-safe container.
  3. Steep Tea: Pour the hot water over the tea bags and allow them to steep for 5 minutes to extract the flavors.
  4. Remove Tea Bags/Strain: Take out the tea bags and strain out the loose chamomile flowers from the liquid for a smooth beverage.
  5. Add Lemon Juice: Squeeze in juice from half a lemon to add brightness and a touch of citrus acidity.
  6. Add Fresh Grated Ingredients: Grate 1 inch each of turmeric and fresh ginger directly into the tea mixture to infuse earthy and spicy warmth.
  7. Add Honey (Optional): If desired, stir in 1 teaspoon of honey to lightly sweeten the drink.
  8. Let Flavors Meld: Stir well and allow the mixture to rest for another 5 minutes to deepen the flavor integration.
  9. Prepare Glass: Fill a serving glass with ice cubes to chill the drink effectively.
  10. Serve: Pour the prepared tea mixture over the ice cubes.
  11. Mix: Gently swirl the drink in the glass to evenly cool and blend the flavors before serving.

Notes

  • This drink is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
  • Adjust honey to taste or substitute with a sweetener of your choice for dietary preferences.
  • Fresh turmeric and ginger provide the best flavor and health benefits, but powdered forms can be used if fresh is unavailable.
  • Chamomile helps promote relaxation and may aid in reducing stress and cortisol levels.
  • For stronger tea flavor, steep for an additional 2-3 minutes but avoid over-steeping green tea to prevent bitterness.
